Monday | 1) Please fill in the following wikispace discussion threads before we discuss proteins in class. Bonus 10 points if your team is already working on these by the time I start the class:) - What I know about PROTEINS right now... - What I would like to know about proteins... 2) If I am able to be in the classroom during the hour, we will learn about proteins. If I am not in the room, please continue with the items listed below. 3) Take a look at your unit overview/review page. USING A DIFFERENT COLOURED PEN update the questions that you know. 4) In your duotang there is page entitled DNA Questions Page 165 you can work on #1-9and then work on #1-11 below. 5) Once you have completed the questions, your team may compile the Carbs, Lipids facts onto one page. Then please find 5 protein facts to add to your Molecules of Life page and try to print and hand in:) 6) Then work on the evolution questions. STart with chapter 9 questions. You may use any textbook in the class or your netbook to search for the answers. -Please answer in enough detail so that when we look at this later on in the semester you notes make sense. - You may choose to use pen and loose leaf paper or use the netbook. ** You may work collaboratively with other students in the class on these questions. If you choose to do this I would like to know how you are doing this and who you are working with. Consider the tools that we have learned so far. | |

Tuesday | Good Morning, Today's plan is to finish up the questions you were working on yesterday. The sub said that you had completed up to #4. So today's goal is to complete that section and the questions below and the move onto evolution. So I was checking through the protein discussion threads and it looks like a few people haven't posted yet. Please do this right away if you haven't already. Friday | DNA QUESTIONS 1-11 Due 1) Wrap up food label investigation. 2) Set quiz date 3) Nucleic Acids - What are they? - review DNA questions - DNA Replication -film role play | 1) Wrapped up food label info and discussed proteins. 2) Each student selected a food item that they could eat in the Tisdale area (i.e. A&W burger, Subway, etc), researched the following, and made a poster to put up.
