    D) Run Chromatography Demo
  2. Wiki Chat with the Grade 5s - Send our Christmas Greetings.
    -
Should we record a video to send to them?
  3. CELL IS LIKE:
    a) Create a Google Doc or Google Presentation (i.e. where you will compose your assignment and share the document with Mrs. Painchaud.

To Share a Google Doc With Me:  pipke.stephanie@nesd.ca

To send a regular Email: pipke-painchaud.stephanie@nesd.ca  (from a regular email account)

  4. Evolution:
    -
Complete the Homologous, Analogous, Vestigial Features Worksheet ( MONDAY
Tuesday, Dec. 21

1. WIKI Chat Grade 5s

2. CELL is LIKE:
- Check to make sure that you have shared your working document and that you have access to your rubric.
- That you have shared what your topic is and suggested one possible example for a connection to a part of a cell.
- You should have one consistent theme to which all aspects relate back to.

What could I work on over the break if I wanted to :)

- Make Sure that the evolution package is complete. (you worked on this during the first semester)

- CELL IS LIKE:
a)  You have selected your topic and shared it in a google doc or through an email if you are using another method.

b) You have shared one example of a comparison to part of a cell.

c) SAMPLE FORMAT:

Example: Cholorplast:
    - Science: This organelle is where photosynthesis takes place, it is only found in plant cells, etc.

    - Your Connection: In my example, I have compared the cholorplast to the ______________  because __________________________________.  (Reasons include connections to water, carbon dioxide, light energy, sugar and oxygen, etc  - for a level 4 - you would be delving into the details of the photosystems, light and dark reactions, how water breaks down, etc.

d) REMEMBER:
- If you would like to improve your unit 1 mark on RNA Transcription or Protein Synthesis - you may complete the basic version required by this assignment which gets entered as another unit 1 mark.
--> You also have the option of creating a more detailed explanation/comparison as it fits with your part of the organelle.

What to expect in 2011....

-Wed/Thurs/Friday (first week back) - wrap up evolution discussions and start into genetics  - practice lecture and note-taking with netbooks.

- Genetics:
  - Mono & dihybrids, incomplete and codominance, multiple alleles and X-linked traits
  - Genetic engineering discussion - collect any articles that you have to share in this discussion
  - Hardy Weinburg Principle
  - Linkage -
